A man who escaped from Yorkton custody is back behind bars after evading police for over a month.
Prince Albert police arrestedĀ Jefferson Jobb, 35, and another man on Thursday at a home on the city’s west side in relation to a firearms investigation.
Jobb had evaded police since escapingĀ the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre in Yorkton on March 10.
According to police, after receiving information that Jobb may have been in possession of a firearm, officers executed a search warrant on a home in the 1600 block of 13th Street West.
As a result of the search warrant Thursday, police seized:
- A semi-automatic sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun
- 30 grams of cocaine
- Two air-powered handguns
Jobb and 39-year-old Timothy Iron, have been charged with several firearm-related charges. Jobb was additionally charged with drug possession.
Members of the Saskatchewan Trafficking Enforcement Team, Prince Albert Police Service Crisis Negotiator Unit, and the Proactive Policing Unit assisted in the investigation.
Jobb made his first court appearance Friday in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
