A power line construction company has been ordered to pay $70,000 after pleading guilty to a violation of Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, Hundseth Power Line Construction pleaded guilty to violating the requirement for employers to provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to protect the health and safety of a worker, resulting in a serious injury. One other charge was withdrawn by the Crown.

The charges relate to an incident near Canora on April 16, 2023, when an employee was seriously injured while working on a power pole.
The court fined the company $50,000, along with a $20,000 victim fine surcharge, for a total payment of $70,000.
