Prince Albert Police confirmed that one person has died following a house fire in the city’s East Hill neighbourhood.
Emergency crews were called to the home in the 100 Block of 18th Street East at around shortly before 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Members of the Prince Albert Fire Department arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the flames shortly after the roof collapsed. After the fire was put out, firefighters located a victim and removed them from the home, where they were treated by Parkland Ambulance. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The scene has been cleared and road restrictions are no longer in place. Graders and front-end loaders were also spotted at the scene to clear the streets for emergency crews following a massive snowstorm.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit and Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service are continuing to investigate.
