Saskatoon police have been investigating several violent crimes over the past week and have laid a number of charges in incidents from earlier this year.
Officers responded to a report of “an unknown problem” in the 200 block of Avenue U South around 8:30 p.m. on Sat, April 4.

When they arrived, officers found a 20-year-old man with “injuries consistent with a stabbing.”
The man was taken to hospital by paramedics. The injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.
A few days later on April 7, around 3:50 a.m., police responded to a report of an injured person in the 800 block of 22nd Street West.
A man was found by police, again with non-life-threatening injuries “consistent with a stabbing.” The man was taken to hospital.
Police are still investigating these incidents and ask for anyone with any information that could assist the investigation to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Woman injured, robbed of backpack
Police have not yet laid charges in a case involving robbery and assault on Sun, April 5.
Officers responded around 8:25 p.m. after receiving a report of an injured person in the 300 block of Avenue C South. Police found an injured woman at the scene who was taken to hospital by paramedics. Her injuries were considered non-life-threatening, police said in a release.
In their investigation, officers learned the woman had been assaulted by two people she did not know and her backpack was stolen.
Police are still investigating the incident and ask anyone with information that could help to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Two arrested in February stabbing
Saskatoon police have arrested two suspects in connection with a stabbing that happened on Feb. 10 this year.
Two men – a 27-year-old and a 30-year-old – are facing charges of aggravated assault in connection with the event.
Police released details earlier this year about the incident, which happened in the 900 block of 22nd Street West. A 50 year old man was stabbed just after midnight that day and taken to hospital.
At the time, the man told police he had been assaulted by two men he did not know, who he described as in their 20s wearing dark clothing.
Charges laid in three February robbery and bear spray incidents
Saskatoon police announced a man has been charged in connection to a handful of incidents earlier this year.
On February 11, police said three robberies took place between 9 p.m. and midnight.
A 17-year-old male is facing charges of robbery, breaching court-imposed conditions, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and assault.
According to Saskatoon police, the investigation is ongoing.
Police charge 15-year-old in two armed robberies
Charges have also been laid against a teen who police say was involved in two armed robberies last month.
The incidents happened in the 2400 block of Preston Avenue South and the 1400 block of Central Avenue. At the time, police said in a release that it was believed the two incidents might be connected.
The teen faces two counts of robbery.
