The driver of the truck, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries, the Mounties said.
The driver of the second vehicle was also hospitalized with serious injuries, while an adult passenger was taken to hospital for assessment by paramedics. A second passenger, this one a teen, was taken to hospital by STARS helicopter with serious injuries.
The RCMP said the eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours after the crash, but the route is once again open to traffic.
“Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist,” the Mounties said in a statement.
