A Saskatoon business sustained major damage in a fire overnight.
Battery Boys/Bolt Mobile on Circle Drive East was badly damaged in the blaze.
A news release from the City of Saskatoon said firefighters were called to the businesses just before 10 p.m. Friday night. Four engine companies, two ladder crews, a heavy rescue unit and a battalion chief responded. When they got to the scene, heavy smoke was coming from the building.
Crews had to force their way into the building to attack the flames, while four blocks of Circle Drive in the surrounding area were closed off to traffic. The area has since re-opened, but as of 7 a.m. on Saturday, fire crews were still at the scene.
No injuries to either staff at the business or firefighters were reported.
According to a social media post from Bolt Mobile, the store will be closed until further notice.
“We are heartbroken, but we are not down. Bolt Mobile and Battery Boys has been serving Saskatoon since 1989 and we will be back at this location — better than ever,” read the post.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire.
