Police in Saskatoon received various reports of firearms on Monday, leading to five people facing criminal charges.
Around 5:45 p.m. on March 10, officers responded to a report of a firearm in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Police said in a release that a man had been seen unlawfully entering a vehicle.
The suspect pulled out a gun when confronted and fled in another vehicle.

Officers found that vehicle and detained the people inside to search for weapons. A shotgun and ammunition were found, as well as an imitation firearm, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Two men, both age 36, and a 29-year-old woman are facing weapon- and drug- related charges.
Two people face combined 17 charges
Another firearm report, around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, told police that a firearm had been left by two people in the back of a taxi.
The passengers had exited the vehicle in the 1300 block of 8th Street East.
Police seized the weapon, which was found to be a pellet gun, and arrested a man and woman in a motel suite. After the arrest, Saskatoon police say further investigation led to officers finding three cans of bear spray, two expandable batons, two knives, a machete, multiple cell phones, cash and methamphetamine “packaged for distribution.”
The man, 26, and 19-year-old woman face a total of 17 charges together.
Boy charged after attempting to rob woman of purse
A 15-year-old youth is facing charges after trying to rob a woman of her purse on Monday at a bus stop.
Two males approached the woman in the 300 block of Confederation Drive shortly after 5 p.m., according to Saskatoon police, and attempted to take her purse.
In a release, police said there was a fight and the suspects used bear spray on the woman, then ran away. Police were able to find one of the alleged suspects and arrest him with the help of Community Support Officers.
The 15-year-old is facing charges of robbery, resisting arrest, obstruction and breaching court-imposed conditions.
