Saskatchewan RCMP learned about the escape of 53-year-old Dale Patrick on the afternoon of Feb. 3 and upon investigating, learned the man had last been seen around 11:30 a.m. that same day on Whitecap Dakota Nation.
Patrick was charged with being unlawfully at large because of the escape.
According to the province’s Ministry of Community Safety, Patrick was serving a sentence at the men’s Community Reintegration unit and failed to return after being on approved leave.
The unit is a community-based residence for low security offenders that allows daily access to the community for work, programming and family connections.
The ministry did not provide details about the sentence Patrick was serving.
