Police have begun a homicide investigation after a 31-year-old woman died on Montreal Lake Cree Nation on Sunday.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release on March 2 that officers were called to a home on the First Nation in the northern part of the province around 2:25 a.m. on March 1 after receiving a report of an injured person.
Officers treated the woman at the scene before she was declared dead by paramedics. She has been identified as Tanya Roberts from Montreal Lake Cree Nation and police said her family had been notified.
The RCMP’s homicide unit is investigating and police said no further details would be provided.
