Four teams have arrived safely to Meadow Lake Wednesday in time for the Saskatchewan Winter Games.
The four teams include South West, Saskatoon, Parkland Valley and Rivers West.
According to the Saskatchewan Games Council, five more teams are still to arrive, but will travel tomorrow, instead. Its website listed the five teams that will postpone travel until tomorrow as Regina, Prairie Central, South East, Lakeland and North.
“Sport schedules will be adjusted accordingly,” said Karen Lawson, games services and communications lead, in an email statement.

The games were scheduled to run Feb. 15 to 21 in Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation, with 1,600 athletes expected to arrive for competition.
According to a statement from the council, “due to the evolving and unpredictable nature of the weather forecast, final decisions regarding travel adjustments have not yet been made.
“Should travel adjustments be required, departures from each District Team departure point may be delayed or rescheduled.”
Saskatchewan Games Council encouraged families of participants preparing for travel to or from the Games to keep an eye on local road conditions and weather advisories in their area, make sure personal safety is forefront when making travel decisions, watch for official updates from the council and to look out for confirmed travel plans from their District Team Chef de Mission.
“The Saskatchewan Games Council is actively working with the Host Organizing Committee and its transportation partners to assess road conditions and determine appropriate contingency plans. The safety of all athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers remains top priority,” the council said in a statement.
