TORONTO — GO Transit riders are facing significant delays after a train was disabled near Canada’s largest train station in downtown Toronto Monday morning.
An alert posted on the GO Transit website says repair crews are working to resolve the issue but commuters should expect delays of up to two hours.
It says trains will not be moving through the area until the problem is fixed.
Metrolinx, the provincial government agency that runs GO Transit, also said that UP Express train service between Union Station and Toronto Pearson International Airport was suspended until about noon.
It now says that UP Express trains are moving but there may be a longer-than-usual wait.
GO Transit is asking people heading to Union Station to use the TTC as an alternative until the issue is resolved.
