Two men have now been charged after a shooting in Cumberland House on Jan. 22.
RCMP said in a news release on Jan. 30 that a 20-year-old from Cumberland House is facing charges of extortion, breaking and entering with intent, and discharging a firearm with intent after a 29-year-old from Cumberland House was charged with discharging a firearm with intent and aggravated assault on Jan. 23.

The 20-year-old is also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle after he was arrested on Jan. 25 after being found in a vehicle where police said officers also found ammunition in the glove box.
RCMP said officers were called to the business around 8 a.m. on Jan. 22 and found a male youth with “injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.”
First aid was provided until the paramedics arrived, police said, and he was taken to the hospital with “injuries described as serious in nature.”
Police said their investigation found that two men with firearms broke into a home in Cumberland House. One of them was shot by a third man inside the home. The two men ran away, with the injured man going to the business where he was found.
The 29-year-old was scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Jan. 30, while the 20-year-oldis scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Feb. 5.
