The man and woman got lost in the forest after an altercation between two men and a woman in a vehicle. This happened on Jan. 7, at around 3 a.m. in the RM of Buckland, near Prince Albert.
One of the men allegedly assaulted the others and took them into a forested area and pointed a firearm at them.
“The firearm was also discharged; it did not injure the victims,” RCMP said. “The victims fled further into the forest to get away from the suspect and became lost.”
RCMP immediately responded to the call and began working to find the victims.
Officers deployed a drone and found the man in the forest.

“While speaking to the male on the phone, Prince Albert RCMP gave verbal instructions to the male on how to exit the forest using the compass on his phone, while also using the spotlight on the drone to light his path and guide him out safely,” it said.
Officers also used their police vehicle lights and sirens as further guidance.
The man eventually found his way out of the forest and was taken to the hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP Police Dog Services were used to help find the missing woman.
“Ground searches, guided by the aerial view from the drone, led to officers locating the female victim in an SUV in a remote location in the RM of Prince Albert,” RCMP said.
Snowmobiles were used to reach the victim, who was taken to an ambulance waiting at the scene. She was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 30-year-old man from Prince Albert is facing 10 charges, including assault, pointing a firearm and negligence causing bodily harm.
