The City of Saskatoon says city-wide grading of residential roads isn’t required, despite the warm weather that has melted snow into deep ruts in some areas.
Instead, the city said it is grading roads on an “as-needed basis” and encouraged residents to report any concerns about snow or rutting to the city.

“A Roadways crew will inspect the area and, where conditions are found to pose a safety concern or significantly affect mobility, grading will be completed to restore safe travel and mobility,” the city noted in a statement.
“Crews will continue to monitor residential street conditions closely as weather and road conditions change.”
If conditions worsen, the city said it is prepared to scale up its maintenance activities and adjust its approach in order to keep the roads passable.
