A 39-year-old woman has been charged with failing to report an accident to police, failing to yield to a pedestrian at intersection or crosswalk, and driving a vehicle without due care and attention after nine-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle in Regina’s Argyle Park-Englewood neighbourhood on Friday afternoon.
Regina Police Service (RPS) received a report around 4 p.m. on Jan. 9 that a child that had been “struck by a vehicle” on Sangster Boulevard near Boucher Crescent, according to news release from Regina Police Service (RPS) on Jan. 12.

When officers arrived they learned the girl had been crossing the street when she was hit, and the driver drove away, RPS said.
Police said girl was taken to hospital but later released.
The driver contacted RPS the following day, police said, and she was then charged She will make her first court appearance at a later date.
Woman charged after stealing vehicle and driving erratically
A 29-year-old woman is facing charges after stealing a vehicle and driving erratically through downtown Regina on Friday afternoon.
In a news release on Jan. 12, RPS said that around 2 p.m. officers received a report of a vehicle stolen from the 1800 block of 11th Avenue.
Police said they quickly found the vehicle travelling north on Broad Street, “swerving in and out of the driving lanes”
Officers followed the vehicle from a distance, police said, before finding it and driver in an alley in the 1100 block of Athol Street.
The woman was charged with refusing to comply with a demand and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and is scheduled to make her first appearance at Regina Provincial Court on Feb. 18.
