A 21-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a home on Melrose Avenue, surprising the resident who found him.
According to police, officers were called to the home in the city’s Avalon neighbourhood shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday after a resident discovered the man standing in his kitchen.

“The resident was able to push him from the house,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“Responding officers located a male suspect matching the description a short distance away, in the 10 block of Young Crescent.”
Police said the 21-year-old man is now facing charges of breaking and entering and uttering threats.
“He was released on an undertaking and will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on February 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.,” police said.
