A 49-year-old man was taken to hospital early Tuesday morning after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of people who stole his vehicle.
Police said officers were called to a mall parking lot on Eighth Street East at around 3 a.m. Police did not name the mall, but the address corresponds with the Centre Mall.

According to police, the victim said he met three people in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East and gave them a ride to the mall parking lot.
When the group arrived at the parking lot, police said one of the suspects pulled the man from the vehicle and assaulted him as he tried to hold onto the door, leaving him with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspects, two women and a man, fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Officers are looking for a green 1999 Toyota Tercel with teal rims.
The male suspect was described as about 35 years of age, wearing a blue sweater or jacket with a hood. One of the female suspects was described as around 35 years of age, wearing a white top and black leggings. No description was available for the second female suspect, the police force noted.
