Freezing rain could complicate travel on Christmas morning in the southwestern corner of Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for the parts of the southwest on Wednesday, covering Maple Creek, Consul, Eastend, Val Marie and the surrounding areas.

“Freezing rain is expected in southwestern Saskatchewan overnight as a disturbance moves in from Montana. Freezing rain will likely continue Christmas morning before ending later in the day. Portions of the Trans-Canada Highway will be affected,” the weather service said in a statement.
“Consider postponing travel until later in the day. Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery.”
