The City of Saskatoon is changing some of its municipal service rates and fees in 2026. The rates will change on Jan. 1 unless otherwise indicated.

Waste services
The landfill tipping fees will go up to $100/tonne and the landfill entrance fee will increase to $20.
Monthly curbside residential garbage (black cart) fees will go up in 2026:
- small cart (120 L): $4.15, up from $3.83;
- medium cart (240 L): $7.84, up from $7.23; and
- large cart (360 L): $11.76, up from $10.84.
Cart swap fees will go up to $38 if residents want to change the size of their black cart.
In 2026, the city said its water and wastewater rates will increase by an average rate of 5.18 per cent, and noted that there will be a new $75 fee for emergency sanitary sewer maintenance service.
“The exact start date isn’t finalized yet, but should launch in late spring 2026,” the city said on its website.
For corporate revenue service requests, tax certificates will go up by $5 to $40 per certificate. Tax searches will cost an extra $5, bringing up the new fee up to $20.
Recreational facilities and lessons are also seeing changes in rates:
Registered swim lessons
Rates are effective from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027:
Indoor:
- 30 minutes: $92.25, down from $92.50;
- 45 minutes: $125, up from $121.50; and
- 60 minutes: $143, up from $139.
Outdoor:
- 30 minutes: $81, up from $78.75;
- 45 minutes: $106.25, up from $103.25; and
- 60 minutes: $121.50, up from $118.25.
Sports fields
Rates are in effect from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2026. The following rates are per game (two hours):
- Class 1 (with lights): $154, up from $150;
- Class 1 (without lights): $74, up from $72;
- Class 2: $71, up from $69; and
- Class 3: $62, up from $60.

Water and Wastewater
In 2026, water and wastewater rates will go up by an average rate of 5.18 per cent, according to the city’s website.
“A $75 fee will be introduced for emergency sanitary sewer maintenance service. The exact implementation date has not yet been finalized but is anticipated to launch in late spring 2026,” said the city.
Property Tax
Property taxes are increasing by 6.7 per cent in 2026, with another increase of 5.81 per cent planned for 2027.
Corporate Revenue Service Requests
Tax Certificates (EPTSC) will cost $40 per certificate, an increase of $5. Tax Searches will cost $20 per search in 2026, which is also an increase of $5.
Indoor Arenas
These rates and fees will be in effect Oct. 1, 2026 to Sept. 30, 2027:
- prime-time ice: $350/hour, up from $325/hour;
- non-prime ice: $240 hour, up from $220/hour;
- summer ice: $350/hour, up from $220/hour;
- dry arena rental: $90/hour, up from $85/hour; and
- dry arena daily: $810/hour, up from $765/hour.
Parking Services
Residents will see an additional charge in the form of a $0.15 “convenience fee” from the ParkedIn app on each transaction in 2026.
