As part of an independent review of the government’s response to the 2025 wildfire season, MNP, the vendor chosen to perform the review, has opened a public survey for anyone impacted by the wildfires.
Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency President and Fire Commissioner Marlo Pritchard said, “This knowledge will help develop recommendations for guiding improvements around mitigation, preparedness and response.”

A press release said the survey is available for people to provide their experiences as an opportunity to strengthen future responses. Responses will be anonymous and will only be seen by MNP.
“MNP has the experience and expertise necessary to conduct an independent review of this scope,” Community Safety Minister and Minister Responsible for the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) Michael Weger said.
“We want to assure that all residents have an opportunity to be heard.”
There were 514 wildfires recorded by SPSA in 2025, and on Dec. 19 the agency’s website reclamation work was still being done in three sites to restore wildfire-disturbed land to support vegetation, prevent erosion and sustain healthy ecosystems.
The agency evacuated 33 communities during the wildfire season, but that does not account for all the people who were evacuated, with local First Nations and communities ordering some evacuations.
A link to MNP’s survey is available on their website. Residents can also email SaskWildfire2025@mnp.ca to provide additional feedback.
The survey will run from Dec. 19 to Jan. 30, 2026.
As part of the review process, MNP will also conduct a “jurisdictional scan,” assessing the SPSA’s processes and directly engaging with impacted communities.
The final report is expected to be concluded before the 2026 wildfire season.
