The City of Saskatoon has activated its emergency response plan to help ensure everyone has a safe place to get away from the elements.
A number of warming locations are open around Saskatoon, the city’s emergency management organization noted, including EGADZ on First Avenue North, the Saskatoon Friendship Inn on 20th Street West, and the former STC Bus Depot Building, which is now operated by the Saskatoon Tribal Council.

Saskatoon Transit also offers a program designed to help anyone in need of immediate shelter or who needs to be put in touch with emergency services.

“If you need help, simply and safely flag down a bus or go to a parked bus,” the emergency management organization noted. “Transit operators can contact emergency services directly through the on-bus radio system and will give the person in need a safe place to wait.”
The city said its plan will stay at Level II until Monday.
