- Froh says Regina must make ‘hard decisions’ as city forecasts 15.69% tax hike
Administration is forecasting a 15.69 per cent property tax hike to maintain current service levels, and recommended enhancements could take that to 18.92 per cent.
In response to requests from the mayor and councillors, administration prepared a list of options for cuts that would reduce or even eliminate a hike.
Some of the people who have requested to speak have identified their preferences from the list to reduce the tax hike, or have their own proposals.
Others plan to defend some of the items facing cuts like community grants and transit.
Delegations will also include representatives of city-funded organizations like the Regina Public Library, Economic Development Regina, the Provincial Capital Commission, and Regina Exhibition Association Ltd.
