Even if you miss the parade, you’ll still have a chance to meet Santa at Midtown.
“I’ll be leaving the float,” Santa added. “(I’ll be) going inside, and people can come and visit me at the Midtown mall from now until Christmas… We look forward to inviting all of the boys and girls, grandpas and grandmas and moms and dads to come on down and see us at the Midtown mall,” said Santa.
Parade safety tips
The Saskatoon Santa Claus Parade website lists some public spaces for the public to use to warm up during the event, including the Midtown shopping centre, Remai Modern gallery, Drinkle Mall, the Saskatoon Public Library, the Meewasin Skating Rink and the YCMA of Saskatoon.
The website also offers some advice for parade goers, such as taking a group selfie with your kids before heading out.
“It’s easy to get separated in a crowd – we know! Saskatoon Police Security, Security Officers and parade Ambassador will be stationed along the parade route. If you get separated, look for an officer and report to them. For older kids, agree on a pre-designated meeting spot in case you get separated,” the parade organizers noted.
Make sure your kids stay behind the parade route barricades, organizers noted.
The website also advised checking the weather forecast and dressing accordingly, including dressing in layers.
Park in a safe, well-lit area near the parade route and be aware of your surroundings while travelling in groups, the organizers noted.
