A 68-year-old man from Snowden, Sask. is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of his partner.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers received a request for a wellness check at a home in the small northeastern community on Wednesday afternoon.

“Officers responded and located a deceased female at the residence in Snowden,” the Mounties said in a statement.
“The death was considered suspicious, and a male was arrested at the scene. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.”
Police said 68-year-old Kevin Searcy has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 69-year-old Diane Searcy.
“The two were known to each other and in a relationship,” the RCMP noted.
Searcy is set to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Friday morning.
