“We’re asking everyone in the province to proudly wear their green and white on Friday, November 7 to support our professional football team,” Moe said.
“This is a weekend for us to put out pride on full display, for everyone in this nation to see.”

Trevor Harris and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are set to welcome Nathan Rourke and the B.C. Lions to Regina’s Mosaic Stadium on Saturday for a spot in the Grey Cup final. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
The Riders currently hold the best record in the league, with 12 wins and six losses, but the Lions are close behind with an 11-7 record. According to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, there are fewer than 1,000 tickets still available for the Western Final.
Joined by Roughriders mascot Gainer the Gopher and Roughriders CEO Craig Reynolds, Moe made the announcement official later on Thursday morning during an event at the Legislative Building in Regina.
Sitting beside Gainer, Moe said the day is meant to bring people from every corner of the province together.
“It’s been such an exciting year for the team, and all of Saskatchewan will be cheering them on this weekend,” Moe said.
After reading the proclamations aloud, Moe handed Gainer a giant black marker to make it official, a moment that drew laughter from the audience in attendance as the mascot “signed” the document with a dramatic flourish.
“That was very presidential,” Moe joked, holding up the proclamation for the cameras.

The premier said the celebration is about more than football; it’s a reminder of the community spirit the Riders help build each season.
“The Roughriders organization has really been the backbone of the CFL,” Moe said. “It’s a great team, and we’re asking everyone across Saskatchewan to show their support this weekend.”
Gainer, who “spoke” through Moe’s translation, said the Riders’ success this year comes down to teamwork from the offence and defensive line to the fans who back them.
“He wants everyone to cheer on the O-line and D-line,” Moe said. “That’s where the game will be won.”
The premier reflected on a busy year for the Roughriders, noting that tailgating will be coming to Mosaic Stadium next season, and the Grey Cup will be returning to Regina in 2027.

“Our Roughriders will have the privilege of hosting the Grey Cup, bringing football fans from across the continent right here to Saskatchewan,” Moe said. “And I trust they’ll be in that game, too.”
The Riders finished the regular season atop the CFL’s West Division, and Moe says there’s no better time for fans to show what Rider Nation is made of.
“We’re top in the league, heading for the West Final in our capital city,’ Moe said. “It’s a great opportunity for everyone in this province to show their pride and support for the team.”
A flag raising for Green and White Day followed outside the Legislature, as Moe and Gainer waved to the cameras.
Green and White Day isn’t a new idea. Ahead of the Labour Day Classic on Sept. 1, both Saskatoon and Regina proclaimed a Green and White Day, encouraging everyone to wear their Roughrider gear and support Saskatchewan’s team.
Meanwhile, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are getting ready to welcome the Montreal Allouettes on Saturday for the CFL’s East Final.
The 2025 Grey Cup will be contested in Winnipeg, and tickets have already sold out.
