People will be able to see a list of emergency service disruptions on the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s website starting in early November.
The SHA said it is updating its emergency service disruption service to “provide accurate, reliable information about the availability of emergency services across the province.”

The health authority said its website will be updated at 4 p.m., seven days a week.
“The SHA is committed to providing patients, families and communities with reliable and accurate information about the availability of emergency services, and we acknowledge frustrations from patients and communities about our current reporting process,” said Derek Miller, the health authority’s chief operating officer.
“These changes will ensure that accurate and reliable information about service availability will be consistently available to the public while our teams work to restore emergency services impacted by temporary disruptions.”
The SHA says it’s making every effort to “maintain emergency services by securing staff and physician coverage wherever possible.”
The health authority said temporary disruptions will only be used as a last resort, and may be caused by “staff or physician vacancies, unplanned absences, scheduled vacations, or facility and equipment upgrades.”
The health authority’s new service disruption reporting process will give patients a full list all facilities experiencing disruptions to emergency services. Currently, the SHA only posts service disruptions that have been ongoing for seven days or more.
