The Huskies and Rams were also both winners this week, as the Rams beat the University of Alberta Golden Bears 22-20 and the Huskies beat the University of British Columbia 24-10.
On Friday the Huskies were in Vancouver taking on the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, and despite being without their No. 1 quarterback Anton Amundrud, the Dogs still found a way to claw out a win.
Jake Farrell got the nod for the second week in a row and threw for 171 yards, going 19 for 29 on pass attempts and logging two touchdowns.
Huskies running back Ryker Frank led the way on the rushing side, with 106 yards.
In the end the Huskies offence proved to be too much for the Thunderbirds defence, and the Huskies won 24-10.
The game remained tied at 0-0 at the end of the first quarter, and in the second quarter the Thunderbirds nailed a 13-yard field goal to go up 3-0.
After that it was all Huskies, as they went on to three straight touchdowns capped off with a field goal giving them a 24-3 lead at the half.
A fourth quarter touchdown from the Thunderbirds was the only scoring in the second half, bringing the game to its 24-10 final score.
In Edmonton, the University of Alberta Golden Bears looked to play spoiler to the University of Regina Rams.
Similar to the game in Vancouver, the first quarter ended with no score.
In the second quarter, the Rams scored a touchdown and added two more points on a safety making it 9-0.
Alberta responded with a touchdown of their own, but the extra-point kick was blocked, leaving the game at 9-6 before another Regina touchdown made it 16-6 at halftime.
The Rams added a field goal in the third quarter to bring the score to 19-6, but Alberta responded with a touchdown and successful extra-point kick making it 19-13.
In the fourth quarter Alberta found themselves with the lead after an early touchdown brought the score to 20-19.
But Regina walked it off with a field goal with 25 seconds remaining in the game, bringing the final score to 22-20.
The Rams next play on Oct. 24 in Regina when they host the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds, while the Huskies will host the University of Manitoba Bison on Oct. 25.
