A 29-year-old man was hospitalized after a fight between two groups of people in a Saskatoon parking lot on Friday night.
According to police, officers responding to reports about the fight arrived at the business on 22nd Street West at around 10:15 p.m. where they found the injured victim “suffering from multiple wounds.”

Witnesses reported that two men got into a fight “with another group of males who were in possession of a machete and bear spray,” the police force explained, but the second group took off before the officers arrived.
The victim is currently being treated for injuries described as serious but not life-threatening, police said, and the case is under investigation by the police force’s Serious Assault Unit.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers.
Man treated for stab wounds after altercation on Eighth Street
A 20-year-old man is recovering from stab wounds, after he was allegedly assaulted on Eighth Street East early on Saturday morning.
Police said officers were called to Royal University Hospital, where the victim was being treated, at around 1 a.m.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke to the male who reported that he and a friend were walking behind some businesses in the 3100 block of 8th Street East at approximately 12:30 a.m., when they were approached by a group of unknown males with bicycles,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
“An altercation occurred resulting in the 20 year old sustaining non life-threatening stab wounds.”
Anyone with information on the alleged assault was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Police use ‘energy weapon’ on alleged armed robber
Two men are in custody after alleged armed robbery involving a knife and and an “improvised firearm” on Sunday night.
At about 9 p.m., police responded to a call in the 1700 block of Preston Avenue North.
“Two males had been in the store and had been confronted by staff members about theft. One male was observed to be armed with a knife,” read the Saskatoon Police Service statement.
Both suspects tried to run away, but police said officers caught up with them quickly.
Police said an officer used an “energy weapon” to subdue one of the suspects during his arrest. Police also found a knife and improvised firearm at the scene.
The men are facing charges including: armed robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of break and enter tools. Both men were also in breach of court-ordered conditions, police added.
Man charged after police pursuit on Sunday evening
A 27-year-old man is facing charges of dangerous driving and evading police after allegedly fleeing from officers in a Jeep on Sunday evening.
Police said an officer tried to stop the vehicle on 22nd Street and Avenue I North at around 10:40 p.m., but the driver refused to stop and took off.
Officers used a deflation device to pop the Jeep’s tires, but the driver allegedly continued for a short distance before parking outside a home on Cartier Crescent.
“Officers arriving on scene were able to see parts of a firearm inside the vehicle,” the police force said in a statement. “Due an elevated concern, members of the Tactical Support Unit began assisting and took three occupants of the home into custody.”
Along with the charges for dangerous driving and evading police, the man was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants, police said.
