Police said paramedics declared Willard Buckle dead at the scene. His family has been notified of the death.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is assisting the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit with the investigation, police said, as officials attempt to determine Buckle’s cause of death.
The RCMP asked anyone who may have video or photos of suspicious activity in the area, or any information about the incident, to contact police.
The Mounties said there will be an increased police presence in Rose Valley “for an undetermined amount of time” during the investigation.
The RCMP said it will provide an update when more information becomes available, and said police will notify the public “if an imminent risk to public safety is identified.”
