We won’t know from the RCMP whether Jayden Dalke was impaired when he killed a man in a collision in July. The investigation has wrapped up and confirms what was largely already known.
The Saskatchewan RCMP has issued what it is calling a “final update” in relation to the collision on Highway 11, between Regina and Lumsden on Saturday, July 18, that claimed the lives of 22-year-old Bhishma Rajyaguru and 30-year-old Dalke, who played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In the statement, the RCMP said: “Results from toxicology analysis are considered personal health information, and the Coroners Service has advised RCMP they will not be releasing this information publicly.”
The statement said that consultation occurred with the RCMP’s Information Management Team and it has been determined, “information related to the investigation that is considered personal information would not be released to a request(or) under the Access to Information Act.”
The statement also said further information will be limited as “there will be no court process” and “Investigators will never have the opportunity to speak with either vehicle occupant to find out what happened on July 18.”
The initial investigation determined that the silver SUV, being driven by Dalke, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane when the collision occurred. A search of that vehicle led to the discovery of alcohol and canabis.
No alcohol or canabis was found in the other vehicle, a black SUV, driven by Rajyaguru.
According to RCMP, the collision reconstruction investigation is complete.
