If you’re going to crash an quad bike, a pile of mattresses isn’t the worst place to do it.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, a suspect in a robbery case in Bell’s Point did exactly that while he was being pursued by police on Tuesday.

The Mounties said officers got a report about the alleged robbery at around 10:45 p.m.
“Investigation determined a male on an electric scooter was approached by two suspects on a quad. The suspects assaulted the male, threatened him, and stole his electric scooter. The suspects then fled from the area,” the RCMP explained in a statement.
“The male was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.”
Police said when officers caught up to the two suspects, one of them was riding the quad while another was riding the electric scooter. Neither of them stopped for police, the Mounties said.
“The quad later collided with a several discarded mattresses in a yard and came to a stop,” the RCMP said. “The driver fled on foot. He was arrested by officers at the scene.”
The driver of the quad didn’t report any injuries to police, the RCMP said, possibly as a result of his soft landing.
The RCMP said the female suspect was arrested nearby after officers used an aerial drone to locate her. The stolen scooter was recovered and will be returned to its owner.
According to police, an 18-year-old man and 38-year-old woman are each facing charges of robbery with a weapon, flight from a peace officer and obstructing or resisting a peace officer.
The male suspect was additionally charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to comply with conditions of a release order and uttering threats, while the female suspect was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Both were scheduled to appear before a judge in La Ronge on Thursday, the RCMP said.
