A man being sought by RCMP in Biggar after he escaped while being transferred to a police vehicle on Aug. 20 has turned himself in.
Josh Meszaros, 34, turned himself in to North Battleford RCMP on Aug. 24 where he was handed multiple charges.
According to police, 34-year-old Joshua Meszaros was arrested on Aug. 20 on charges of driving while prohibited and breaching a release order. The RCMP said he managed to run away while officers were taking him from the Biggar RCMP detachment to a police vehicle at around 3 p.m.

The RCMP said a search of the area using police dogs and aerial drones came up empty, but noted that a CRT 250 motorcycle was stolen from a home in Biggar at around 5 p.m. that day.
The Mounties said Meszaros is now facing charges of escaping lawful custody and theft under $5,000. He was described as five-foot-10 in height, weighing 215 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. The stolen motorcycle was described as black and blue, with Rockstar energy drink stickers on it.
The incident on Wednesday is similar to an alleged escape that occurred in February in the community of Pelican Narrows. Police said a 28-year-old man allegedly ran away from RCMP officers while he was being escorted to a police vehicle following his arrest on charges of robbery, assault and breaching court-ordered conditions.
In that case, the suspect was arrested in the same community after nearly a month of freedom.
