A freight train travelling through the CPKC rail yard in Regina caused a significant derailment on Saturday.
Patrick Waldron with CPKC Communications said in a statement to CJME News that the derailment happened just before 10 a.m. when a train moving through the yard derailed a number of cars carrying shipping containers.
A train derailment shook a nearby Regina business Saturday morning. CPKC says two locomotives and about 13 cars were involved. No injuries were reported, and there is no risk to public safety.

Waldron explained the derailed cars then hit an empty potash train parked on an adjacent track, and said two locomotives and approximately 13 cars were involved.
There were no injuries and there is no risk to public safety, he said.
Crews are on the scene to begin the cleanup. The incident is under investigation.
