A fire in a boarded up house on Avenue U North in Saskatoon was reported early Sunday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames and smoke coming from both the garage and home.
The crews used hose lines to apply water to the exterior of the house and removed boards to gain access to the interior.

The crews accessed the attic with a chain saw to extinguish the fire fully and remove the smoke in the house.
There was some evidence that the house had been accessed through the back, so crews also did a search to check for occupants.
No injuries to firefighters or civilians occurred, a fire investigator is working to determine the origin and cause of the fire and determine a damage estimate.
