Three boys, ages 13, 15 and 15, were arrested on Friday afternoon after allegedly brandishing a fake gun and a machete during a robbery at a liquor store on 22nd Street West.
According to police, officers were called to the store shortly after 5 p.m. after getting a report of a robbery involving a gun, bear spray and a knife.

“Officers arrived on scene and were able to view video surveillance and learned multiple youths entered the store and grabbed multiple bottles of alcohol off the shelf before attempting to leave without paying,” the Saskatoon Police Service explained in a statement.
“A woman confronted the group and one of the males brandished what appeared to be a firearm, while another pulled out a machete. There are not believed to be any physical injuries as a result of this incident.”
Police said the three teens were found and arrested a short distance from the business. The police force said officers believe the gun used during the alleged robbery was an “imitation firearm.”
All three teens are now facing charges of robbery, police said, while one of the 15-year-old was also charged with using an imitation firearm while committing robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a criminal purpose, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent.
The youths cannot be named due to provisions in Canada’s Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police said they are all expected to appear in court on Monday.
Man found injured in Saskatoon alley
Police say officers are investigating after a 22-year-old man was found with serious injuries in an alley behind the 300 block of Avenue T South on Sunday evening.
According to police, officers were called to the area at around 6:40 p.m. The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment, and police noted that his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was encouraged to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or make a report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Woman with multiple weapons arrested
A woman is facing several charges after police responded to a call that she was threatening people with a knife in the 100 block of Avenue T South Sunday night.
Officers located and arrested the woman a short distance away from where the incident is alleged to have occurred. A search of her person resulted in the discovery of two knives and a pool ball that was hooked to a chain. The woman also had outstanding warrants for her arrest.
The 36-year-old woman is facing three charges each of assault, uttering threats, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of court-imposed conditions. She was scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2026.
17-year-old charged in bear spray incident
Police responded to a weapons call Friday night near 19th Street and Avenue P, where a teen was reported to have bear spray.
He was found nearby and arrested without incident. During a search, the officers located two cans of bear spray in his possession.
During their investigation, officers reportedly learned the teen had threatened multiple people with the bear spray. Two witnesses attempted to intervene and the suspect allegedly discharged bear spray at them.
The 17-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts each of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon.
