Police said officers responding to the call found a 41-year-old victim suffering injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
After searching the area, police said officers found and arrested the teenager, who matched a description of the attacker. A search of the area using a police dog led officers to find a knife nearby, police said.
The teen has been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, according to police, along with two counts of breaching probation.
