MONTREAL — Quebec actor Marc Messier has died at the age of 78.
Messier left his mark on Quebec television, film, and theatre, including through his role in the immensely popular “Les Boys” movie franchise.
His talent agency says in a press release the actor died today following a brief illness.
Born in Granby, Que., on Aug. 16, 1947, he shone across cultural mediums in shows and movies like “Broue,” “La petite vie,” and “Lance et compte.”
Messier received several honours for his roles, including the Gémeaux and Artis awards.
He was also appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2025, though the announcement of his induction into the Order was made in 2023.
