A tornado was spotted in the area of Denzil, Sask., northwest of Kindersley, on Thursday.
Nicholas Heffner captured a video of the tornado, which he said formed a few kilometres west of his acreage. Kyle Ziolkowski, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the weather service is working to confirm the reports.

“There was a storm in the Denzil area, and it looked like it produced a tornado yesterday, and we did receive some reports of damage in the area as well,” Ziolkowski said.
“We’re still trying to collect more information. There was also reports of golf-ball-sized hail in Denzil itself yesterday from the same storm.”
Ziolkowski said he’s seen images from social media showing damage to at least one farmyard where grain bins were knocked over by the storm.
“We’re still trying to complete the investigation at this point, with our partners, to kind of get a complete picture,” the meteorologist said.
In addition to the funnel cloud near Denzil, Ziolkowski said another tornado was reported earlier in the afternoon near Coleville, north of Kindersley.
“That one’s a bit more fuzzy,” he said. “There’s no reports of damage with that one currently.”
While the Kindersley area was hit hardest by the storms on Thursday, Ziolkowski said Regina and the southeast corner of the province also saw severe weather.
Ziolkowski called it a “significant storm,” and said he expects more information on the storm and any potential damage it left behind to trickle in throughout the day on Friday.
