The man was declared dead by paramedics at the scene and was later identified as a 23 year old from White Bear First Nation. The RCMP said his family has been notified.
“Initial investigation suggests the male’s death may have been the result of a vehicle-pedestrian collision. No vehicle was located at the scene where the male was located,” the RCMP stated.
The incident is still being investigated by the Carlyle RCMP, a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstruction expert and Yorkton Forensic Identification Services, the Mounties said. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is also participating in the investigation.
The Carlyle RCMP is asking the public to submit any dash cam or surveillance footage that might have been captured in that area, which is just west of White Bear Lake, late on June 30.
Police asked anyone with footage or information on the man’s death to get in touch with police or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
