The City of Saskatoon is reporting that work on College Drive is being pushed back due to rainy June weather.
Crediting “recent heavy rainfall and weather events throughout the month of June and forecasted rain for the remainder of this week,” the city said College Drive construction is “experiencing delays.”
University Bridge first closed to non-emergency traffic on April 6.

The opening of University of Bridge and the College Drive corridor to two lanes of traffic – one lane in each direction – is now expected to happen in mid- to late July, depending on weather and construction conditions.
Previously, the city announced an expected opening of the bridge and College Drive for the week of June 29, depending on favourable conditions.
Emergency vehicles will still be able to access the hospitals across University Bridge as construction continues, and pedestrian access is also unaffected.
“The City is continuing to work with the contractor to finalize plans for upcoming stages of construction along College Drive,” a release from the city said, adding that additional information will be shared when details on the next phases of construction are confirmed.
“The City thanks residents for their patience and understanding as these essential infrastructure projects continue.”
