La Ronge RCMP have located and arrested Sampson Roberts, who was wanted on a warrant in relation to a shooting investigation.
On June 11 at approximately 2:45 p.m., police received a report of a shooting on Bird Place. An investigation determined an altercation occurred between two men outside a residence. During the altercation, one of the men discharged a firearm and the second man was injured.

The armed man left driving a car he took from the scene. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening, in nature.
On the morning of June 12, officers located and recovered the car the suspect was described as driving at the time of the incident.
As a result, 25-year-old Sampson Roberts from the La Ronge area is charged with discharging a firearm with intent, robbery with a firearm, operation while prohibited, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, and weapons possession contrary to order.
Roberts was arrested on June 17 by La Ronge RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP’s La Ronge crime reduction team in the La Ronge area.
He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on June 18.
