A Saskatchewan woman who starved a four-year-old foster child to death and abused the girl’s younger sister has been granted day parole.
Tammy Goforth was given life in prison with no chance of parole for 17 years after being convicted in 2016 of second-degree murder and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

The two girls were rushed to hospital in 2012 and found to be malnourished, dehydrated and covered with bruises, with the four-year-old dying of a brain injury following cardiac arrest.
The parole board says Goforth will live at an unidentified community residential facility in Saskatchewan for six months, adding that she’s subject to conditions and has a low risk of reoffending.
