A novice driver has been caught driving more than double the speed limit, Corman Park Police Service (CPPS) says.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, CPPS said officers saw a vehicle on Highway 16 near Boychuk Drive travelling at 204 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone just after midnight on May 31.

Police said a traffic stop was conducted “after 7 km of closing the distance,” and the driver was issued a $1,515 speeding ticket for exceeding the speed limit by at least double.
CPPS said the driver’s vehicle was also impounded for 30 days, and their licence was suspended for seven days as well.
“All occupants of the vehicle were provided education in relation to speeding offences and the realistic consequences of an accident at excessive speeds,” the CPPS post said.
More than 2,000 drivers and passengers were charged, suspended, ticketed or warned by police in Saskatchewan during the recent Canada Road Safety Week.
According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, police from various agencies stopped 5,271 vehicles around the province between May 12 and May 18 during their annual traffic blitz, focusing on removing dangerous drivers from the roads and reminding everyone to drive safely.
Police said 1,594 of those drivers were ticketed or warned for aggressive driving, a category which includes speeding, unsafe passing, following too closely and stunting.
