A 36-year-old man from Cumberland House is facing four charges of arson and four charges of attempted murder following a fire which destroyed a home and left one person with serious injuries.
According to the RCMP, officers got a report about a fire at a home in Cumberland House, northeast of Nipawin, at around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Investigation determined that five adults were in the residence at the time of the fire,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Four of the adults were assessed at the scene by EMS. The fifth adult was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature.”
Police said the fire was quickly deemed suspicious, and the man was arrested and charged in connection with the blaze.
He was scheduled to appear in court in Nipawin on Thursday morning, police said.
