A gravel road just northwest of Saskatoon served as an emergency runway on Tuesday evening.
At around 6 p.m., officers with the Corman Park Police Service and the RCMP responded to a report of a possible plane crash and found a small white plane had landed on Lutheran Road, near Range Road 3072.

NAV CANADA’s Saskatoon control tower was responsible for the initial report.
Once they got there, officers quickly saw the plane hadn’t crashed. The premature landing was required after the aircraft ran out of fuel, which caused the engine to completely lose power.
No one was injured, and police said the emergency landing didn’t cause any damage, “to the aircraft, road, or surrounding infrastructure.”
The plane’s owner refueled the aircraft before getting back in the air and returning safely to the airport.
Corman Park police noted that the Transportation Safety Board was notified about the emergency landing.
