According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the blaze at a multi-family home on Laurier Drive was reported shortly after 7 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they could see smoke coming from the building.

“Firefighters located two occupants who had self-evacuated onto the roof above the front entrance of the unit,” the fire department said in a statement.
“Fire crews laddered the roof and safely evacuated both occupants to ground level.”
Firefighters then set up hoses and entered the building to put out the fire and search for any other occupants.
Nobody else was found inside the townhouse, the fire department said, and the fire was completely extinguished without any injuries reported.
“A fire investigator is on scene to conduct an examination to identify the cause, origin and damage estimate,” the fire department said.
