A number of sandwiches, subs and wraps sold by the convenience chain 7-Eleven have been recalled due to possible contamination with listeria.
The Government of Canada said the sandwiches, which were distributed in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, should not be consumed, sold or distributed.

The affected products include the 7-Eleven brand’s turkey, ham and swiss subs, chicken Caesar wraps, egg, bacon and cheddar English muffins, egg, sausage and cheddar English muffins, pizza subs, hungryman subs, roast beef wedges, tuna salad wedges, spicy Buffalo chicken wraps, rotisserie chicken chipotle wraps, hoagie subs, Japanese-style egg salad sandwiches and veggie wraps.
A detailed list of the affected products, which have best-before dates ranging from Sunday to Wednesday, can be found on the government’s website.
“The affected products are being recalled from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination,” the recall notice read.
“Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.”
The notice said symptoms of listeria can include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness. While no illnesses have been reported due to the recalled food, the potential health risks are serious, especially to more vulnerable individuals.
“Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk,” the notice read.
“Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die.”
Earlier this month, a number of salads, cheese and meal kits were recalled across several provinces, including Saskatchewan, due to concerns around listeria.
