A celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to Saskatoon this summer.
On Wednesday, Saskatoon was unveiled as one of 34 communities across the country set to host the FIFA Canada Celebrates tour on July 4.

The stop will include a free watch party of games at a yet-to-be-announced location in the city, which will coincide with the start of Round of 16 playoffs.
Along with the game broadcasts, the Canada Celebrates tour will include sport-themed activations, cultural programming, music and food which will be open to all residents and visitors to the city.
According to FIFA, there will be 38 stops across the 34 different communities which will happen within a two-hour drive of more than 75 per cent of all Canadian residents.
In a release, FIFA vice-president and CONCACAF president, Victor Montagliani, said he believes it will be a celebration that will bring Canadians together from coast to coast.
“Beyond hosting matches in Toronto and Vancouver, this FIFA World Cup will create a legacy for football in this country – inspiring the next generation and growing the game for years to come,” Montagliani said.
“We look forward to visiting all 34 communities as part of this global celebration.”
Canada will host 13 World Cup games this summer, including a trio of games for the national men’s team.
Team Canada will open the World Cup in Toronto against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12, with their final two group stage games in Vancouver coming on June 18 versus Qatar and June 24 against Switzerland.
The Canada Celebrates event in Saskatoon will be the lone stop for the tour in Saskatchewan.
According to Discover Saskatoon, the location of the watch party and activation events will be announced soon.
