Police in Saskatoon say a driver struck three parked cars and a tree while fleeing from officers early on Thursday morning.
According to police, the driver had been the subject of a previous complaint about erratic driving, and he allegedly fled from the officers who caught up with him in the area of 33rd Street and Avenue W North at around 1:30 a.m. before crashing in the 2400 block of 33rd Street West.

“The 25-year-old male driver and 32-year-old female passenger were both transported to hospital for treatment of what are believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries,” the Saskatoon Police Service said in a statement.
Police said the case is still under investigation, “but impairment is believed to be a factor.”
Traffic in the area was restricted after the crash, but the route has since been reopened to drivers.
