A man and a woman from Yorkton, who police said had been travelling in the same vehicle, died after two separate incidents on Highway 10 near Edgeley on Saturday.
Saskatchewan RCMP said in news release on March 31 that officers from the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment were investigating the deaths after a rollover and a pedestrian collision on March 28.

The pedestrian collision was reported first, around 1:30 a.m., after a vehicle hit a 20-year-old woman walking on the highway. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said, and the woman was declared dead by paramedics.
Then, later that same morning, police said officers found a damaged vehicle on a nearby slough, with a dead man inside. Police said they believed that the vehicle had left the road and rolled and that their investigation had found the man, also aged 20, and the woman had been travelling in the vehicle together.
Police said the rollover was not believed to be connected to the pedestrian collision and that both people’s families had been notified.
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continue to investigate both incidents with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
